Waimarino is idyllically located on the banks of the Wairoa River, just 10 minutes from central Tauranga. This tranquil paradise is based around the sport of kayaking and since 1975 Waimarino has become Bay of Plenty’s premier kayak and adventure location.

BDO Spicers Conference 2008: Waimarino Adventure Park instantly came to mind when considering local options for team building challenges for our Conference. Blair and Roly listened to our requirements and were absolutely fantastic in tailoring a plan for our specific needs. The logistics of getting 130 people to kayak down the Wairoa River seemed too daunting for us personally to organise so we left it to the professionals. The staff were well prepared and equipped to get everyone on the river on time. Roly organised a number of team building exercises back at the Park which catered and challenged to every persons level – and most of all they were fun! The Park has a great range of facilities which we took total advantage of! Not only were the staff a pleasure to deal with, they went beyond their duties to make our event enjoyable for everyone. We have no hesitation in recommending Waimarino for a ‘corporate day out’ – it was fantastic.

As you begin to absorb the surroundings on our Wairoa river tour you will be greeted at the narrows by our river boat on which you will be treated to a fully catered lunch. From there you can continue kayaking down towards Waimarino or just put your feet up and enjoy the ride back in style on our river boat, maybe getting a little work done on the way. The perfect mix of work and pleasure

You’ve all seen the T.V program now its time to try it Waimarino style!!! The Waimarino team will set up a race format to suit all skill levels and abilities whether it’s a 1 hour sprint or the full on experience there will always be time to reflect on the race highlights while enjoying the exciting facilities at Waimarino. There is nothing like competition to bind a team.

Magical, Energising, Amazing, Inspiring If any of the above words described the activity you and your group are looking for the Glow Worm Tour is for you. The evening will begin relaxing on the edge of Lake McLaren enjoying delicate New Zealand cheeses and refreshments or maybe a gourmet dinner.... Our guides will prepare to lead you along the picturesque Lake McLaren into the mysterious glow worm canyon. A truly magical, unique and inspiring experience / not to be missed

The tried and true team building package. The group will be divided in to even groups mixing all skills and abilities. You will then partake in several team games and fun activities designed to expose strengths and weaknesses and challenge every member of the team. Finish the day then or stay on for a social gathering after hours!!!!

Start the day out with a relaxing Wairoa river tour back down to Waimarino. On completion of the paddle everyone will regroup and be briefed then divided into teams. Then it’s time for a little competition, you will be guided around the team building rotation with the Waimarino staff keeping careful score. At the end of the rotations, scores will be added, protests made and a winning team will be revealed. Now the results are in finish the night under the marquees watching the sunset enjoying great food and a few refreshments. The full on corporate experience!!!
